In 1974 at the age of 64, Mike Austin hit a 515-yard drive while playing in the U.S. Senior Open, the longest recorded tee shot in the history of competitive golf. Austin, who had advanced degrees in kinesiology, accomplished this remarkable feat with a method that is far different from the traditionally taught swing.

Teaching professional and long drive competitor John Marshall of Atlanta has studied this uniquely effective and powerful method under Austin protégé Dan Shauger and is an accredited Class A  instructor. He used the method to win the 2006 and 2005 American Long Drivers Association Super Senior national championship and to reach the Finals of the  RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship each year from 2004 through 2007.

Mr. Marshall, who is also certified by the United States Golf Teachers Federation and the Titleist Performance Institute, offers comprehensive instruction of the Mike Austin method at The Hooch Golf Club in Duluth, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb.
