John Marshall is a 2005 and 2006 American Long Drivers Association Super Senior National Championship and a five-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship finalist. He teaches a golf swing developed by legendary long driver Mike Austin whose 515-yard drive at the 1974 U.S. Senior Open is the longest recorded tee shot in the history of competitive golf. The swing is different from the conventional golf swing in that it utilizes additional levers to create more club head speed and more consistency.
Mr. Marshall is certified by the United States Golf Teachers Federation, the Titleist Performance Institute, and Impact Zone Golf. He offers comprehensive instruction of the Mike Austin method at the Alpharetta Athletic Club (East Course) and Steel Canyon Golf Course in metro Atlanta.
I will compete at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Finals this fall in Mesquite, Nevada for the 5th time. Currently I’m doing speed training to increase my club head and ball speed. Current speed is peaking at 118 mph. Hoping to get to 120 plus.
